Aloha! There’s no better way to start your day than a fresh, homemade smoothie. Sage and I make healthy smoothies packed with fruits and veggies everyday. When I’m feeling like we need to add a bit of island flavor, we choose tropical fruits to mix in with our typical standbys of greens, dates and coconut water.
Generally, I use a mix of fresh and frozen ingredients. Since we make smoothies every day, using organic frozen produce is an easy and quick way to keep our smoothie supplies well-stocked. (And, bonus: frozen fruit is already chopped into quick-to-blend pieces and you won’t need to add ice!)
Alright, that’s about it, check out the recipe below and let me know if this recipe helped you start the day feeling nourished with a splash of tropical fun!
Tropical Morning Smoothie Recipe:
2 cups greens (I used a mix of spinach, kale and chard power greens)
16 oz raw coconut water (I use the brand harmless harvest)
3 pieces frozen coconut meat
2 frozen bananas
1 handful of frozen mango
3 pieces of frozen pineapple
2 pitted medjool dates
I blend the green and liquid first, then add all of the fruit and blend again.
