Let’s talk about SNACKS!! Healthy and accessible snacks are essential to surviving motherhood! Healthy snacking is so important for our kids because their smaller stomachs fill up fast and they burn energy quickly. In between breakfast, lunch and dinner, I find that giving the kids a healthy snack helps curve their focus and behavior to stay positive and caring. This is crucial not only for the kids, but for us mommas, too!
My go-to snack hack are these little energy balls. They are the perfect boost of energy because they are full of protein, healthy omega 6, zinc to think, calcium and iron. The best part is that they are easy to make and adaptable to the ingredients I already have on hand. I partnered with @dolesunshine to create this winning combo and my kids couldn’t get enough of them. They are my favorite grab-and-go snack that I store in freezer!
Recipe:
4 @dolesunshine jarred peaches
1 cup quinoa flakes (can sub rolled oats)
1/2 cup peanut butter (any nut-butter will do)
3 medjool dates
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1 tbsp hemp hearts
1 tbsp chia seeds
1/4 cup coconut flakes
Blend in food processor
Roll into balls
Freeze
Enjoy!
