10 Convenient Vegan Foods To Have On Hand

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned from motherhood so far is to be as prepared as possible! One of the ways I do this is by keeping snacks on hand for the kids (and myself!) when we are out and about. Healthy snacks help keep you and your kids happy. Compared to adults, children tend to fill up faster at meals since their stomachs are smaller. Because of this, having healthy snacks on hand can help supply their growing bodies with the nutrients and hydration they need.

Here are 10 of my kid’s favorite snacks that I often find when I reach into my diaper bag. The best part about all of these snacks is that they’re simple and fairly mess-free, which means I feel comfortable giving it to them anywhere from in the car, at the park, or after dance class!

Below is My List of Easy Go-To’s for Happy Snacking

  1. Larabars – These 2-3 ingredient bars are a favorite of everyone’s. Seriously, cashew cookie is always on standby.
  2. Seaweed – This is my daughters absolute favorite snack. Like seriously who would have thought that kids would be so head over heels for seaweed. Packed with a high mineral content including iodine, calcium, iron, and magnesium this snack is a win win for moms and kids.
  3. Dole Fruitocracy Pouches – These are a special snack to have on hand and my kids slurp them up so fast. I like these pouches because it’s usually the least messy snack on the go. My kids favorite flavor is apple strawberry.
  4. Clementines – Clementines are perfect for the diaper bag. The come with a built in wrapper and are durable enough to take the bouncing and squishing that comes along with a ride.
  5. Personal Baggies of Raw Cashews – More cashews please! In the peanut free world of preschool we live in, cashews are our nut of choice. In addition to having a great taste, Cashews are an excellent source of copper and a good source of phosphorus, magnesium, manganese and zinc. Remember… Zinc to think!

Crafted from organic bananas that have been browned to perfection, these satisfying snacks are packed with natural delicious flavor. Our favorite flavors are peanut butter covered and coconut.
  9. Personal Hummus + Baby Carrots – This is the only snack on the list that needs supervision in the mess department, but wholly moley I haven’t met a kid not obsessed with dipping. Luckily, I packed lots of extra wipes in the diaper bag as well.
